How to travel the world with almost no money | Tomislav Perko | TEDxTUHH

Many people daydream about traveling the world, but all of them have the same excuse — lack of money. Tomislav, after traveling the world for years with almost no money, shows how it is possible for everyone to do the same, if they really want to.

Tomislav Perko, 29, is a travel writer from Croatia. After a career of a stockbroker, broke because of the financial crisis, he hits the road and turns it into his home. He uses alternative ways of traveling – hitchhiking, couchsurfing, working/volunteering, and manages to wander around the world with just a little bit of money in his pocket, meeting the most amazing people on the way.

Five years later, he publishes a book “1000 Days of Spring” and goes around giving lectures about what it means to live on the road. Find out more on his website: tomislavperko.com/en/.

Why We Struggle Learning Languages | Gabriel Wyner | TEDxNewBedford

The only barrier to learning a language is memory. — The process of language learning is the process of forming memories. Nothing more, nothing less. If you understand that, and you understand how memories are formed, then you can make progress in a way youve never dreamed possible before. Gabriel Wyner is an author, opera singer and polyglot based in Chicago. After reaching fluency in German in 14 weeks with the help of the immersive Middlebury Language Schools, he fell in love with the process of language learning, going on to spend two months in intensive Italian courses in Perugia, Italy. Searching for ways to bring the immersion experience into the home, he began to develop a system that rapidly builds fluency in short, daily sessions. In 2010, his efforts paid off. He learned French to fluency in 5 months, and then Russian in 10 months.

Born in Los Angeles, he graduated summa cum laude in 2007 from the University of Southern California with dual degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Vocal Arts Performance, and was awarded the Renaissance Scholar’s prize for excellence in unrelated disciplines. He then moved to Vienna to pursue triple Master’s degrees at the Konservatorium Wien in Opera, Lieder and Voice, and graduated with honors in 2011.

Currently learning Japanese, hes learned Hungarian and Spanish over the last few years. His book on language learning – Fluent Forever: How to learn any language fast and never forget it – was published on August 5, 2014 (Harmony/Random House). His most recent project has been the development of a new language learning tool, which became the most successful Kickstarter for an app in history in September of 2017.

In the realm of scarcity lives the art of achieving | Naveen Suman | TEDxGGSIPU

In an awe-inspiring talk about his journey of overcoming the language barrier, from studying in a local elementary school to interacting with people from a wide diaspora, from being scorned at by his superiors for not being ‘proficient’ in English to mesmerizing people at a global level, Naveen Suman talks about the need for incubating and supporting people’s language at the ground level itself to make them confident enough to express their ideas freely.
With the start of Naya Sawera, based on a concept of peer to peer learning, Naveen Suman has become a motivation for hundreds of children providing them with a platform to hone their talent. Not giving up and instead of seeing it as an opportunity to bounce back even higher, he has proven everyone wrong and shined against all odds.
The winner of the Schneider Go Green 2019 and the National Start-up award 2020 in the energy sector, Naveen Suman is a budding entrepreneur and the co-founder of Aloe ECell Pt. Ltd.
The winner of the Schneider Go Green 2019 and the National Startup award 2020 in the energy sector, Naveen Suman is a budding entrepreneur and the co-founder of Aloe ECell Pvt. Ltd. Cherry on top, he also heads the Big Street Mart as the CEO. With their sharpness and genius, Naveen Suman along with Nimisha Varma came up with the idea of the Aloe batteries. What fueled the recognition of their innovation? Their topnotch confidence and brilliant thinking helped them stand their ground in the finals and succeed as global winners. What does it take to make the world a better and sustainable place to live in? Working on their inquisitiveness, they took aloe extracts, added a few herbal constituents used in beauty products and medicines to form their battery electrolyte, which they then named Green Batteries. Such young minds giving rise to these efficient ideas, push everyone to lend a selfless hand in saving our future. As the two young founders rightly say ‘It’s time to go green’.
