В результате успешной операции по освобождению заложников командир спецподразделения Артем Говоров ранен. Он прошел курс лечения в госпитале, и теперь едет в положенный ему отпуск по ранению на 10 суток, на родину. Там, в провинциальном приморском городке живет его единственный родственник — двоюродный брат Николай, директор местной школы. За время отпуска Артем знакомится с соседкой Светланой и помогает ей в быту. А в день отъезда майора обратно к месту службы Светлана рассказывает о проблеме — ее дочь Вика не вернулась домой на ночь. Казалось бы, с молодыми такое случается, но Светлана не на шутку встревожена и предчувствует беду. Говоров предлагает новой знакомой помощь, задерживается в городке, и как оказывается, не зря. Вика стала свидетелем криминальной потасовки, и теперь ей угрожает большая опасность.

He has travelled through Estonia and Finland as well as hiked alone in the French mountains in order to immerse himself in the local culture and has attempted to learn many of the world’s most challenging languages such as Mandarin and Estonian. Hes not only an excellent student but also a talented orator, which has led him to participate in an international debate at Yale university last year. Today, he wants to offer some insight on how to learn languages quickly and effectively and help us understand how polyglots manage to find the time and energy to learn so many languages in one lifetime.

In this talk Roberto discusses his three phase system which he uses to teach English without teaching English, to improve the learning experience for students and the teaching practice for professors.

Robert Guzman is a full professor at the University of Puerto Rico, Aguadilla Campus. Guzman teaches undergraduate English courses in which he stresses the development of critical thinking skills and hands on language development skills. He’s also a freelance writer and political commentator on the WPRA 990 AM radio show Comunicando with host Toti Figueroa. So far Guzman has published, among other books The Devil’s Advocate Reader, Tropical Tales of Terror, Mitos y Conflictos en la Biblia and Heroes.
